Planning ahead is a key to a successful Black Friday experience. That, and hiring a fullback, or the defensive line from your local football team, so they can make way for you :)
Gottadeal does a superb job of covering the Black Friday ads. They have posted ads from numerous big name retailers, such as Circuit City, Best Buy, Staples, Target, Sears, Walmart, Costco, Macy's and tons more. Be sure to visit their Black Friday pages.
Another strategy, for those who don't have the time, the energy or the desire to hassle with hundreds of other deal-hungry shoppers is to find deals at second tier retailers and go for those. While the malls, Circuit City, Fry's and Best Buy are going to be crazy, smaller places, like independent Radio Shack stores or drugstores or smaller chains will be more manageable and it will increase your chances of finding what you were looking for. Of course the "get" from these may not be as exciting as the "get" from the big stores, which is why they have so many more people liked up :)
