Free After Rebate (FAR) in the Sunday newspaper (August 26)

  • New rebate program books today for Walgreens and Longs Drugs. This is the last week for the Rite Aid rebate book.
  • All the items in this list are free after rebate, so I won't be repeating the phrase for every item in the list. Note that in general Rite Aid and Staples rebates can be submitted online with nothing to mail-in, while the rest of the rebates have to be mailed in (but always check anyways). The price in (paranthesis) is before rebate - the price you pay in-store
  • These are Free After Rebate without any preconditions (eg purchase another product)
  • Zantac 150 Maximum strength Cool mint tablets (eight tablets per package) at Rite Aid, Longs Drugs and Walgreens (nice if they are your favorite!) ($5)
  • Duck Ez-Start packaging tape 1.88" by 22.2 yards ($1.50) at Rite Aid
  • Efferdent Plus mint 108ct ($6) at Longs Drugs
  • Pantene Pro-V Texturize! Hair Color, shampoo or conditioner 12.6oz or Stylers 1.7 to 9.6oz ($5) at Walgreens
  • Rimmel Renew and Lift ($9) at Walgreens
  • Aquafresh Toothbrush Gel Flex or Deep action ($4) at Walgreens
  • Clear Care Contact Solution, 4oz ($7) at Walgreens
  • Post-It 4-pack ($9) at Office Depot
  • McAfee Total Protection software at Office Depot
  • Norton Anti Virus 2007 at Staples
  • Norton Internet Security 2007 for 1 to 3 pcs at Staples
  • Microsoft Windows Live OneCare 2007 1.5 at Staples
  • Kaspersky AntiVirus ($45) at Fry's Electronics
  • Resume Deluxe ($30) at Fry's
  • Mavis Beacon Teaches Typing ($25) at Frys Electronics
  • Webroot Spy Sweeper 5.0 ($30) at Fry's

    Walgreens Register Rewards
  • Think of this as an instant rebate to be used on your next purchase. Let's say you buy the item below and receive a $7 Register Rewards coupon after you pay for the item. You can use it to take $7 off your next purchase at Walgreens. Be sure to read the fineprint on the coupon as some of them may have restirctions (no alcohol, no tobacco, no dairy, no lottery, no gift cards, etc). In general these are even better than rebates because you get them in your hand right away. But they are not as versatile as cash!
  • Alka Seltzer Plus Immunity Complex (10pk, Orange Zest),
contains vitamins and minerals including antioxidants. ($7)

    Rebate Tip
If you are going to do rebates, be sure you are not half-way or half-heartedly in it. To be efficient and effective, you have to take the simple steps of processing them right away, making photocopies when you submit, and track the checks by keeping a folder with your submissions. Once a check arrives/is cashed, shred/recycle the copies in your folder (or move them to another folder if you want to keep track of your past purchases). That way your pending rebates folder will always be up to date!
