Yes, Best Buy is offering a Toshiba A135-S4656 laptop for $350 without rebates. What's the catch? Well, it's an older model closeout, no rainchecks, but don't count it out! It has an Intel Celeron processor, 512mb ddr2 memory, 80gb hard disk, dual layer dvd burner (wow!!!), 15.4" widescreen, and Vista Basic. One per household.

I do not know what the availability will be for this one, but this can be a nice backup laptop, especially for doing basic things or not multitasking heavily. Get it if you can find it!!!

Laptop clearance under $600 at Office Depot!

Zoom into Office Depot for some great laptop clearance deals, assuming you have the will and patience and fortitude to deal with mail-in rebates.

First up at $450 after $150 MIR (mail-in rebate) is the Toshiba A135-S4527, with an intel pentium dual core T2080, 1gb memory, 120gb disk, dvd burner, 15.4" widescreen, 802.11 b/g wireless and Vista Premium. Lenovo fans, warm up your credit cards! The Lenovo 3000 N100 is $580 after $300 in MIR (mail-in rebates). Don't do it if you are scared of rebates! Office Max is touting an exclusive notebook computer bundle on the front page of the sunday paper ad (the weekly circular).

The bundle is price at $850, and in typical Officemax fashion, no rebates. It includes:

HP branded notebook backpack

HP dv6430m-b notebook computer that features an AMD Turion 64X2DC TL-58, 2gb memory, 160gb disk, dvd burner, 15.4" widescreen, b/g wireless, built-in memory card reader and built-in webcam, and Vista Premium.

The only other laptop advertised in the circular is the HP TX1205us, which features a swiveling (aka convertible) 12.1" widescreen. This is not a touchscreen however. Laptop deals at Fry's Electronics this weekend

Fresh from the Friday paper ad, in ascending price order, we have the following shiny laptops begging for your hard earned dollars ;-) MIR stands for mail-in rebate, AR stands for after rebate. 64X2DC is shortcut for Athlon or Turion 64 X2 dual-core mobile technology. A lot faster to type and to read :) All the laptops are limit one per customer and some may be in limited quantities.

At $600 after a $50 MIR is the HP Pavilion DV6405US with an AMD Athlon 64X2DC TK-53, 15.4" widescreen, 1gb memory, 120gb disk, double layer dvd burner, b/g wireless and Vista Premium.

Toshiba Satellite notebooks are quite popular among the buyers and with good reason! The A215-S4747 is available for $650, no rebates! Under the hood there is an AMD Turion 64X2DC TL-56, 1gb memory, 200gb hard disk, double layer dvd burner with label flash, b/g wireless, 15.4" widescreen, Vista Premium.

Hey, how about some Fujitsu? That's right, the Fujitsu A6025-303 is availble for $700 after a $50 MIR. At the magic price of $1000, and without rebates we have two Toshiba Satellite notebooks. Sony fans prepare to spend! Office Depot continues to have aggresively prices laptop deals. One thing to keep in mind is that you need to send in mail-in rebates in order to get these prices. Office Depot does not have online rebates, so you have to mail them in and patiently wait until they are received and cashed. And with that out of the way, let's look at the laptops in this week's circular, sorted by lower price first, just like you like them :-)

We have one sub-$500 laptop, albeit after two mail-in rebates ($180 total), bringing the price down to $450. The computer in question is the Compaq Presario F572us with an AMD Athlon 64 X2 DC TK-53 processor, 1gb RAM, 80gb hard disk drive, dual layer super-multi dvd burner, 802.11 b/g wireless LAN, 15.4" widescreen display, and the obligatory Vista Home Premium.

Next up the price ladder at $550 (after two rebates of $150 total) is Toshiba A125-S4697 Satellite Notebook, powered by an AMD Turion 64 X2 dual core TL-52 processor, 1gb memory, 160gb disk, dual layer dvd burner, 802.11 b/g wireless LAN, 15.4" widescreen display, and Vista Home Premium. The ad toutes "power life" but no specifics are listed.

Sony fans will be thrilled to see a Sony Vaio for $600 (after $180 in mail-in rebates). The Sony Vaio VGN-N325E/B is powered by an Intel Pentium DC T2080, and has a 1gb RAM, 120gb disk, dual layer dvd burner, b/g wireless LAN, 15.4" XBrite-ECO widescreen, and Vista Home Premium.

Next up at $650 (after $200 in mail-in rebates) is the HP Pavilion DV6426us using an Intel Centrino Duo Core Duo T2450, 1gb memory, 160gb hard disk drive, dual layer dvd burner with lightscribe, 15.4" widescreen, built-in webcam, and Vista Home Premium.

Then we have an Office Depot exclusive model, the Toshiba A215-S4757, for $800 (after $150 in mail-in rebates). This is the first notebook of this ad with 2gb RAM.
