Fresh from the Friday paper ad, in ascending price order, we have the following shiny laptops begging for your hard earned dollars ;-) MIR stands for mail-in rebate, AR stands for after rebate. 64X2DC is shortcut for Athlon or Turion 64 X2 dual-core mobile technology. A lot faster to type and to read :) All the laptops are limit one per customer and some may be in limited quantities.
At $600 after a $50 MIR is the HP Pavilion DV6405US with an AMD Athlon 64X2DC TK-53, 15.4" widescreen, 1gb memory, 120gb disk, double layer dvd burner, b/g wireless and Vista Premium.
Toshiba Satellite notebooks are quite popular among the buyers and with good reason! The A215-S4747 is available for $650, no rebates! Under the hood there is an AMD Turion 64X2DC TL-56, 1gb memory, 200gb hard disk, double layer dvd burner with label flash, b/g wireless, 15.4" widescreen, Vista Premium.
Hey, how about some Fujitsu? That's right, the Fujitsu A6025-303 is availble for $700 after a $50 MIR. This has Intel Pentium DC T2130 power, 1gb memory, 120gb shock protection hard disk drive, double layer dvd burner, built-in finger print reader, spill resistant keyboard, 15.4" crystalview screen, b/g wireless, and Vista Premium.
If you like a bigger screen, say a 17" widescreen, the Toshiba P205-S6327 can be yours for $900, no rebates! As you can expect, you are paying a premium on the bigger screen. The rest of the main specs? Intel Centrino Duo Core 2 Duo T5300, 1gb memory, 200gb disk, double layer dvd burner with label flash, a/b/g/N wireless (N being the next generation), and Vista Premium.
At the magic price of $1000, and without rebates we have two Toshiba Satellite notebooks. First up, the F45-AV410, with an Intel Centrino Core 2 Duo T5450, 2gb memory, 200gb disk, double layer dvd burner with label flash, a/g/n wireless, 15.4" widescreen, built-in webcam and fingerprint reader, and Vista Premium.
Competing with that at the same price is the A215-S4767, powered by the AMD Turion 64X2DC TL-64 Gold Edition, and featuring Vista Ultimate instead. The other specs are similar: 2gb ram, 200gb hdd, double layer dvd burner with label flash, 15.4" widescreen.
Fujitsu returns with the A6030-171 at $1100 after a $150 MIR. It has an Intel Centrino Duo Core 2 Duo T7100, 2gb memory, 120gb disk (how cheap!), double layer dvd burner, built-in finger print reader, bluetooth ready, spill resistant keyboard, a/b/g/N wireless, and Vista Premium.
And something for Apple fans! The MacBook 2.16 is available for $1294, with a 2.18ghz Intel Core 2 Duo processor, 1gb ram, 120gb disk, double layer dvd burner, 13.3" widescreen, and 24oz of Apple Hype ;-)
Sony fans prepare to spend! This Sony Vaio costs $1700, no rebates and is powered by an Intel Centrino Core 2 Duo T7300, 2gb ram, 200gb sata hdd, Nvidia GeForce 8400m gt gpu, a/b/g/N wireless, dvd burner with 2x BluRay playback (as if!), 15.4" wide XBrite Hi Color LCD, and Vista Premium. Bargain hunters will shy away from this, but Sony fans will see it as a nice deal :)
And now let's accessorize! The Wenger Patriot black wheeled computer case for 15.4" laptops is $100 after a $15 MIR. The Toshiba Dynadock USB docking station with VGA Video Port is $100. It is compatible with any brand of Windows PC, not just Toshibas. Logitech's V220 cordless optical mouse is $15 after $10 MIR. Cat not included :-) Targus Feren backpack is $30 after $15 MIR. Also, IOGear's KVM Micro Switch (2 ports, PS/2) is just $20! And Case Logic's Messenger Bag is $40. That's all folks! And if you liked this post, please email it to your friends!
